INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
One of the most important divisions in the CCRC is the information technology department, which is headed by the chief technical officer (CTO). It is in charge of maintaining the reliability of all hospital data, information, security systems, building management systems, communication, collaboration and mobility services deployed by the Cochin Cancer Center. Also, the most important contributions of the information technology department in our hospital is the administration and management of electronic health records (EHRs), including patient data including medical histories, laboratory results, imaging studies, and treatment plans.
Our HIT department provides state-of-the-art healthcare infrastructure system facilities for staff and patient services using Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) technologies. The Information and network security systems, electronic security systems with analytics capabilities, integrated building management systems (IBMS), audio visual systems (AV), and cloud computing infrastructure services are all managed and maintained by our IT department. At these specialty medical facilities, our IT department helps improve patient care, streamline administrative and hospital management processes, support research efforts, and improve the overall delivery of our oncology services to a higher standard.
Our Health Information Technology (HIT) division is considered as the most promising department for improving the overall quality, safety and efficiency of the digital health delivery system. Our HIT is increasingly focused on improving healthcare quality, preventing medical errors, reducing healthcare costs, increasing administrative efficiency, reducing paperwork, creating a paperless hospital-run infrastructure, and expanding access to affordable care. In line with the recent advancements in information technology, our Health Information Technology Division, as the heartbeat of a digital CCRC, provides, operates and maintains efficient, dynamic user-friendly data systems that will enable the Cochin Cancer Centre to achieve its vision of a centre of excellence.
In addition to software and computer support, our HIT department plays a key role in providing strategic management of our hospital system and ensuring the collection, maintenance, security and privacy of patient health and hospital records. In addition, HIT is responsible for implementing new technologies now widely used in the infrastructure facilities of the latest hospital buildings, medical tourism facilities and remote patient management (RPM) systems to ensure a safe and secure infrastructure platform and significantly reduce energy, operation, communication and maintenance costs.
HIT department is our technology leader in our technology innovations to develop and implement best practices and solutions based on hospital infrastructure technology to create cancer healthcare digital solutions that meet the real needs of our doctors and staff across all our clinical and non-clinical departments.
