PAIN AND PALLIATIVE CARE
At CCRC, “Pain and Palliative Care services” are integrated with oncology care. The department comprises of Pain, Palliative and Home care services managed by consultants and a home care team with a qualified doctor, palliative care nurse and a medical social worker.
The Department offers comprehensive care for all chronic pain problems, symptom management, home care services, bereavement counseling which offers caregivers to express their thoughts and worries, planning end of life, support to cancer patients.
AIM OF PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES AT HOME:
- To establish sustainable continuum of care.
- To meet the community needs of a patient within the capacity.
- To provide care where it is most needed at your door step by our dedicated and qualified home care team.
- To provide psychological support as a part of holistic care.
Palliative care begins with cancer diagnosis and continues throughout treatment, follow-up care and post-treatment management.
We are committed to help patients achieve the best quality of care possible by alleviating suffering and improving quality of life for patients throughout the course of their cancer treatment.
The pain and palliative care department provides a variety of services, including:
- Pain management: The pain and palliative care team can help patients to manage their pain using a variety of methods, including medication, physical therapy, and relaxation techniques.
- Symptom management: The pain and palliative care team can also help patients to manage other symptoms of cancer and its treatment, such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and shortness of breath.
- Psychosocial support: The pain and palliative care team can provide psychosocial support to patients and their families. This may include counseling, support groups, and financial assistance.
- End-of-life care: The pain and palliative care team can also provide end-of-life care to patients and their families. This includes providing comfort and support to patients during their final days.
